This small gongfu-style tea cup is made from black clay, fired three times, and left unglazed. It’s a simple piece, but made with intention, for tea lovers who enjoy the slow changes that come with time.
Because it’s unglazed, the cup will slowly develop a natural tea patina, especially if you use it with darker teas like pu-erh. That’s part of the charm, every use leaves a little trace, making the cup more personal the longer you drink from it.
Although the clay is fired to cone 6 and fully vitrified (so it's non-porous and dishwasher-safe), I still recommend rinsing it with just boiled water if you want it to last a lifetime.
It’s a quiet kind of cup, something honest that grows with you.
